My story is about how YogaShakti studio was established in the year 2000.
I practiced Hatha Yoga in India in my young teens, and after coming to America in 1982, I went away from my yoga practice with work, raising children etc. One thing always was in the back of my mind was to go back to my yoga practice. Nothing made me feel calm and centered as the practice of postures(asanas), pranayama( yogic breathwork) and meditation which my Guru in India taught me.
As I was looking for a studio, they were just a handful and nothing close to where I was living at that time in Florida. In 1997 after moving to Tarpon Springs once again, the guidance was asking me to go back to my practice. At that time, I went to our local YMCA and attended their first yoga session. The instructor was wonderful, but it lacked the spirit of yoga. The music, people, coming in with shoes on, and there was no chanting of OM, which is the connector to the creator, so at that time, I listened to my guidance and daringly took the step forward to open the studio in Safety Harbor in 2000 and in 2004 moved to the present location. It's been an incredible journey thus far.
Last year I joined the course for Measured Yoga Therapy with LifeInYoga. By next spring, I will get my certification. I have learned so much about how the practice of yoga can transform our lives and live a healthy lifestyle, not just in physical sense but stay centered no matter what is happening around us

Julie Incremona Ludlow discovered and fell in love with yoga over 21 years ago and was immediately drawn to the benefits of both the physical and mental health aspect of the practice. She continued with her passion and completed her 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification. Julie‘s main objective is to help people on their journey by teaching a gentle style that will strengthen the mind and body and cultivate a sense of peace, balance and mindfulness that students can carry with them on and off the mat.
Yoga is my purpose. I began practicing yoga several years ago, and once I truly felt the mind-body connection yoga had gifted me, I knew I was meant to go further. I wanted to share my authenticity for yoga with everyone. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training and Yin Yoga certification at Pose by Pose Yoga Studio. My classes are flowing, progressive, encourage creativity, and aim to help clients become more aware of their body.
In this lifetime, Christina has been practicing yoga for 22 years and teaching for 10 years. As a teacher, she acknowledges that every Soul has a different journey. She shares a yoga of synthesis and encourages you to tap into your inner teacher and honor what is right for you. She trained to be a Yoga Siromani (teacher of yoga) with the Sivananda lineage via the ancient Indian gurukula style of education, where the student lives and studies with their teacher at an ashram. Christina believes we can learn from all beings (each other, animals and plants, just to name a few!). Her studies continue today both formally and informally.
